We were eagerly awaiting the big storm last night which promised up to 10-inches showed up only delivered about 1-inch of new snow. Cold temperatures prevail and are in the forecast for the next week at least and this is good news for the trails as that will help to tighten up the we spots. There is approximately 1′ of snow on the trails and groomers have run 8 east and 1 north with drags. They’ve been running over the other trails as well, just not with the drags on yet as conditions will not allow. There are a few sledders in the area who have reported that the trails are passable and said that conditions are borderline at best.
Fishing on Lake Gogebic has been strong and we’ve seen ice houses appearing and more activity out on the lake with good reports of walleye in the bay.
We are waiting for snow and will be sure to let you know! Have a save and Happy New Year and we will look forward to seeing everyone in 2016!
