Welcome back to winter and Lake Gogebic area snowmobile trail reports. Trails are technically scheduled to open today, however, we really do not have the snow for it. It’s snowing right now and we are predicted to receive 3-5″, but we also have warmer temperatures predicted for the next several days. We will have to see what ends up happening. There is not even a base on the trails and more harm than good could be done by being out on the trails at this time. We will keep you updated and let you know as soon as we hear that the trails are rideable.
As reported by Tom, “Although this does not sound good, I think we are still in better shape than we were a year ago. Last year we got 90″ of snow between November 8th and the 20th. December was a disaster all that wet snow just melted down and made a mess of things.”
What we need right now is some more cold weather to tighten up the wet areas and the Mother Nature can start up the snow machine. We know you are anxious and we are as well – but we just need to be patient. Get your holiday shopping done now, so that when the snow flies you’re ready to ride!!!
We’ve done a lot of great work on the lodge with all new windows, doors, siding and the addition of all new sofa beds in all the rooms! We continue to work on updating the units and enhancing the experience we offer to our guests!
