Happy New Year! We’ve were out of town for the New Years, so we are reposting Barry Drews ice fishing report as he has the most accurate and up-to-date information on Lake Gogebic Ice Fishing:
“Lake Gogebic report has been fair. The bite has slowed up a bit from what it was, but some are still reporting great action. It has just been a little more wide spread with good reports. Anglers continue to work 5ft. to 8ft. for walleye and some perch. Others are beginning to work 20ft. to 26ft. for both. Sucker minnows and jigging spoons and rapalas for walleye and small jigs tipped with wigglers or spikes are taking some perch. Ice conditions are very good. With 6inches to 8 inches of good ice and only about 10 inches of snow has made for good travel for both snowmobile and atv. Reminder on the new walleye regs. Two fish between 13 inches and 15 inches with the remaining 3 of five must be over 15 inches.
We returned from our ski trip at Big Powderhorn Mountain and are ready for our season on Lake Gogebic. Give us a call or send us an email at iceman@walleyelodge.com or 906-575-3557. We hope that you enjoyed a nice holiday season and we are looking forward to a fantastic 2016!!!
Jim & Mary Beth!
